Throughout my years of traveling, I’ve faced various obstacles and challenges. As a woman, certain issues can often complicate our trips.

It might be a cliche, but we all know that an unexpected period can disrupt our plans and moods. Packing can also become a hurdle, particularly when dealing with weight restrictions and unpredictable weather. Plus, let’s face it, ladies – we often find ourselves in need of a restroom.

But fear not, I have solutions to these common issues!

5. Scented Bin Liner

I know it seems odd, but trust me, during a long journey when you don’t have the opportunity or desire to wash your clothes, you’ll appreciate this tip! Let’s face it, nobody’s dirty laundry smells like roses, but it could smell like vanilla or lavender even during your travels. Swirl bin liners are my personal favorite. Just pop one or two in your suitcase, and you’ll enjoy a pleasant aroma throughout your trip!

4. Compact Mini Hairbrush

While it may seem over the top, a compact mini hairbrush can indeed be a lifesaver. This is particularly true after long flights. Imagine finally arriving at your dream destination after hours of travel, looking like… well, let’s just say ‘morning chic’. A mini hairbrush, like Tangle Teezer in your purse or backpack, can help you regain your polished look.

3. Multiway dresses – Infinity dress / Sarong

These are fantastic! If you’re visiting a warm destination, just pack 2 or 3 of these versatile items and you’re set. You can wear them on the beach, to a fancy dinner, or even in places where you need to cover your shoulders, like churches or Muslim countries. They’re stylish, practical, and easy to style!

2.  Solution for the P

A sensitive subject, but an important one. This might not be necessary for every trip, but for adventurous journeys, it’s crucial. Imagine being on an African safari or on a road trip in Iceland and finding yourself in need of a restroom with none in sight. That’s when a portable travel toilet comes to the rescue. It’s easy to use, appropriately sized, and simple to clean at the next available facility.

1. Menstrual Cup – not the Diva!

Menstrual cups can seem daunting. I was initially apprehensive, but once I tried one, it was a game-changer. Why?

  • You can wear it all day: Have you ever canceled a day trip because of your period? With a menstrual cup, you don’t have to worry about this anymore. It’s safe to wear all day, and you’ll hardly notice it.
  • It’s space-saving: Menstrual cups are small, easy to pack, and often come with a carry bag.
  • It’s eco-friendly and budget-friendly: Menstrual cups produce no waste and save you money in the long run.
  • It’s easy to clean: Unlike washable pads, menstrual cups don’t require any special detergent and you don’t have to wait for them to dry.

If you’re hesitant, I urge you to give it a try. I initially used the well-known Diva Cup, but after three months, I switched to Lunette. It’s more comfortable, easier to use, and more affordable!
